From different angles you can see different colors coming out into the open and it draws tons of attention to that. After I did it I was just running around in different light trying to find cool angles.
So here is mine.
In that pic you can see a little bit of purple and green showing, and It is slightly darker than the Mesmer a few posts up.
Personally, I'm incredibly happy with that color. The shifting shades of colors makes it incredible.
EDIT: In that light the top looks golder than the legs. The legs look pretty orange-ish there. Just shows the varying power of my combo.

Just so you know, you get a slightly green outline and hue around the armor components anyway when using the 15K Mesmer Enchanters armor. Mine is dyed all black but in certain area where the light is just right, it still has a slightly green hue. I don't think your green dye had anything to do with the effect you're getting, its just a bug in the 15k armor.

This is my Warrior with Drok's Plate and a Crimson Carapace Shield. Originally, the armor had a blue color. I dyed it and the shield all red and was very disappointed in the results…it looked more like a maroon of sorts. I then used dye remover on the shield and all armor pieces. Below is the result, a fairly nice gold color.
I then used several gold dye combinations with the following results:
On the Boots I used the (Silver + Yellow) + (Yellow + Orange) combination.
On the Leggings I used the (Orange + Silver) + (Silver + Yellow) combination.
On the Gauntlets I used the (Yellow + Purple) + (Yellow + Silver) combination…remember using opposite colors supposedly yields a brownish color.
The Shield and Cuirass I left alone for comparison.
On the Helm I used the Orange + Silver combination only.
All of these can be seen below.
This time I used dye remover to return everything to normal and then used several other gold dye combinations with the following results:
On the Boots I used the Purple + Green + Yellow combination.
On the Leggings I used the Orange + Yellow + Green combination.
On the Gauntlets I used the (Orange + Yellow) + (Yellow + Blue) combination.
On the Cuirass I used the Green + Purple + Orange combination.
The Shield and Helm I left alone for comparison.
The results can be seen below.
I’m still not very happy with any of these combinations. In my opinion, the dye remover yielded the closest (and cheapest) gold color. I have seen some brilliant gold armor in game. If anyone has a better combination and pics for gold plate, please post.

I mix it with Yellow + Silver + Yellow... looks great. And yes the second yellow does make a difference.

OK, this time I used dye remover to return everything to normal and then used three more gold dye combinations with the following results:
On the Boots and Helm I used dye remover only for comparison.
On the Gauntlets I used the Yellow + Silver and then Yellow combination…ok, but kind of light.
On the Leggings I used the Green + Orange and then Yellow combination…not bad.
On the Cuirass I used the (Green + Orange) + (Yellow + Silver) combination…Finally a Gold I like!!!
The results can be seen below.

Don't think anyone has said yet, but for my armor I used:
Yellow +Silver + Yellow
Which creates this colour:

Silver+yellow+orange+green is my fav gold color. Use another orange instead of silver on very bright armors.

Yellow + Silver + Orange + Silver on my monk.
It does reflect gold, though for the most of it, it looks like a beige colour.
.
Oh.. I love the necro armor there, nice colour.
